Part of a series released by Dalmore originally for the Travel Retail market, The Trio has been released in 2019. The mini-series includes three whiskies from the Highland distillery, each release was matured in an increasing number of cask finishes, with the Trio being finished in three casks, the Quartet in four casks and the Quintet in five casks.
The Trio has been finished in three casks: first fill ex-bourbon, aged 10 Year Old Tawny Port and exclusive 30 Year Old Matusalem sherry.
Nose: Raspberry tart, Seville oranges and morello cherries dipped in caramel.
Taste: Damson plums, manuka honey and coffee latte.
Finish: Chewy liquorice and vanilla.
