GlenAllachie 10 Year Old 2012 Vintage Cuvée Cask Finish Limited Edition
Part of the GlenAllachie Wine Cask Series, this Limited Edition is the 2012 Vintage Cuvée Cask Finish. Master Blender Billy Walker first expertly matured the spirit in the finest American oak ex-Bourbon barrels, before transferring the whisky into hand-selected European wine barriques for secondary aging. Billy added a distinctive twist to this release by ultimately blending four exceptional wine cask finishes into one unique expression: The Cuvée Wine Cask Finish.
Bottled in 2023, this release is a harmonious marriage of whisky matured in barriques which previously held premium red wine. The finest casks were hand-picked from the French AOC (Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée) regions of Languedoc and Médoc whilst, across the border, Grattamacco and Recioto della Valpolicella barriques from Italy.
Nose: Bursting with pastel fruits, heather honey and dried red berries, with hints of ginger, caramelised biscuit and soft spice.
Taste: Layers of orchard fruits, orange zest and honeycomb, followed by notes of plum syrup, figs and glazed cherries, with a touch of cinnamon.
Finish: Long with ginger and red berries.
