This is Batch 7 of the GlenAllachie 10 Year Old Cask Strength whiskies.
For this edition, master distiller Billy Walker has chosen whisky aged in a combination of Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry puncheons, Rioja barriques and virgin oak casks. Matured for 10 years and bottled at cask strength in February 2022.
Nose: Waves of heather honey, dried fruit, cinnamon and nutmeg, followed by orange peel, mocha and treacle.
Taste: Lashings of dark chocolate, figs and heather honey, with raisins, cinnamon, plums and hints of orange zest.
Finish: Long and sticky, sweet with spices.
