Glenfarclas 17 Year Old The Royal Oak Dufftown
Glenfarclas is considered by many to be one of the finest distilleries in Speyside. It has been in the hands of the Grant family since 1865, making it one of the oldest family-owned distillers in Scotland. Its direct-fired stills produce a heavy single malt that is almost exclusively matured in Jerez sherry casks. The distillery focuses on single malt over blends, and a cool microclimate around the distillery that means that their casks are particularly stingy to the “angels,” resulting in an incredible depth of stock.

Nose: Complex, with distinctive butterscotch, sherried fruit and peat smoke aromas.
Taste: Big, full-flavoured, with excellent balance, develops slowly, full of sherry sweet malty tones, and a touch peat smoke.
Finish: Long lasting and smooth, with a hint of spice and sherry sweetness.
