Springbank 25 Year Old 2022 Second Release Single Malt Whisky

Springbank distillery is located in Campbeltown, a picturesque Scottish town situated at the southern end of the Kintyre Peninsula on the glorious west coast.
The first reference to Campbeltown whisky is recorded in writing in 1591. Springbank was established in 1828 on the site of Archibald Mitchell’s illicit still, becoming the 14th licensed distillery in Campbeltown. Today, Springbank is one of only three distilleries operating in the Campbeltown area and is the oldest independent family-owned distillery in Scotland.

This is the 2022 second release of the limited edition Springbank 25 Year Old. It has been matured in a combination of 50% ex-Bourbon and 50% refill ex-Sherry casks. Although it was produced at the end of 2022, this release became available in early 2023. One of just 1,400 bottles.

    Nose:   Light smoke and funk come to the fore.

    Taste:    Lightly spiced and honeyed notes linger, complementing the lightly ashed smoke that flows through the whole dram.

    Finish:    Lingering finish, which slightly sweetens the smoke notes. Some light hints of darker fruits lurk in the background.
