‘Charming and Entrancing’
This whisky was distilled on 13th October 2008 and has been aged for a total of 12 years in first-fill ex-PX American oak hogshead. Distilled at Macallan distillery and bottled by The Scotch Malt Whisky Society (SMWS).
Only 321 bottles released.
Bottler’s notes: Wow! Look at that, what an amazing shiny, dark chestnut colour. On the nose the scent of pastel de nata, almond tuiles, sweet chilli peanuts, pralines, figs and prunes mesmerized us. So rounded on the palate neat (even with that high strength) like an affogato, vanilla ice cream drowned with hot espresso and a liberal shot of amaretto. A drop of water added sun-soaked raisins, salted caramel, treacle as well as rum and raisin ice cream as we finished with a chocolate hazelnut Martini cocktail. In 2018 we combined selected Oloroso butts before returning the single malt to a variety of different casks to develop further. This is one of those casks.
